Each year Gallow Green at The McKittrick Hotel turns into a warm winter haven during the cold months. Now, the Lodge at Gallow Green has already reopened for the season!
You’ll feel like you’re inside a personal cabin when you step into this rooftop lodge. A cozy little escape from the hectic city streets. The rooftop will have a forest of pine trees, with an opening that leads you to the ski cabin. The McKittrick Hotel’s rooftop transforms yearly into a mountainside escape. As noted in their press release, it “lures guests out of hibernation to discover an indoor-outdoor ski cabin, perched high above the bustling city streets in a secluded forest of pine trees.” Enchanted yet?
Warm up by the fireplace with a plaid blanket or dine on one of their sleeping bunks. The space also features a library and outdoor fire pit to enjoy.
You’ll find on the menu their signature cocktail Sleep No More, which includes pea flower-infused vodka, elderflower, and rosé cider; or their Dickensian-era holiday punch, which is made with red wine, port, Cognac, rum, raisins, and warming spices. Aside from listed cocktails, there will be plenty of bourbon, whisky, and cider to enjoy while you cozy up to the fireplace.
As you sip, nibble on some of their small plates or a pizza from their wood-burning oven. Other comforting fare will include Wild Mushroom Ravioli, house-made Tater Tots (which have bacon, chive, and cheese baked in), and their Angus skirt steak. If you plan to reserve a table you might want to get their cheese or chocolate fondues to share!
The Lodge at Gallow Green will be open daily starting at 5 p.m., and 4 p.m. on Saturdays through March.
