The 48th annual Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks Show is right around the corner, and you can score a front row seat to the fabulous spectacle for free!
10,000 free front row tickets to the Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks Show were originally released yesterday, Wednesday, June 26th,though Gothamist writes that the website quickly crashed after more than 1 million people tried to log on. Only 2,000 tickets had been spoken for at the time of the crash.
8,000 tickets have now been released as of this morning, Thursday, June 27th, at 10 am.
The tickets will be distributed online on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning at 10 am, giving New Yorkers and visitors alike the chance to view the fireworks show either from Pier 45 or Pier 84 on the West Side.
Mayor Adams stated:
While all New Yorkers will be able to take part in the illumination of our sky at the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks, our administration is making sure that 10,000 lucky New Yorkers have an opportunity to enjoy the show with a front row seat. We’re making sure everyone has a fair shot at attending one of the city’s most exciting and iconic events. I look forward to joining the thousands of viewers celebrating America’s birthday right here in the Big Apple.
This July’s iteration of the annual show is the first time in over a decade that it’s returning to the Hudson River, providing miles of prime viewing along Manhattan’s West Side (these are the best spots to watch them). This year’s display will feature thousands of shells in an array of effects and vibrant colors, shapes, light, and sounds.
Tickets are limited to two per person. More information about the free tickets and where to get yours can be found here.
