Would you be willing to swap out maple syrup on your pancakes for Nutella instead?
Well that’s exactly what Nutella wants you to do this Saturday, February 29 (Leap Day!). Their “Syrup Swap Shop Pop-up” will be happening from 9am-4pm in Vanderbilt Hall right in Grand Central Terminal.
Okay, so the pancakes and Nutella aren’t exactly free. But only one kind of payment is accepted: a bottle of maple syrup! All you have to do is bring a bottle of the traditional pancake topping so you can swap it out with Nutella instead.
The bottle can be opened or unopened, so just grab whatever is hiding in your cabinet and head on down. When you hand it in at the “shop,” you’ll receive a plate of warm pancakes topped with Nutella as well as a 13-ounce jar of the beloved chocolate hazelnut spread (while supplies last).
There will also be pancake art and kid-friendly activities for the whole family. The event is kicking off a new feature on Amazon Alexa, where people can ask “Alexa, open Nutella Creations,” and receive delicious recipes and games to play while breakfast is being prepared.
Guess there’s a new breakfast staple in town!
