Buddy the Elf is taking over New York City once again, and now you can join him! Whether you’ve dreamed of exploring the Big Apple with a candy-cane-colored scarf or just want to see someone hug a lamppost with equal enthusiasm, this is your chance to experience the magic firsthand.
Following their festive free screening of Home Alone 2 earlier this month, Central Park is back again with another free movie Thursday, screening a beloved NYC classic for one night only.
Head over to Wollman Rink for a screening of Elf and watch as Buddy spreads holiday cheer from the streets of Manhattan to the towering skyscrapers he calls home.
There’s no better place to relive his NYC adventures than in the city itself, under the wintery sky with friends and family. Who says outdoor movies are just for summer? Surely not us!
The screening is set to take place on December 18th beginning at 5 pm EST, the perfect time to spread holiday cheer with little ones, or anyone looking for the perfect dose of holiday nostalgia.
Attendees can enjoy the film from the cozy overlook above the rink. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets, as it’s sure to be a chilly night. But really, is there anything better than curling up under a blanket to watch a holiday movie? Perhaps only if that screening happens to be under the stars in Central Park.
The experience is free of charge, and you may even take home a keepsake. - 🚇 By Subway: Take the N, Q, R, or W trains to 5th Ave/59th St, Or the A, B, C, D, 1 trains to 59th St–Columbus Circle.
- 🚌 By Bus: M5, M7, M10, M20, and M57 all stop near the south end of Central Park.
- 🚶 By Foot: From 59th St & 5th Ave, walk west into Central Park toward the Rink.
