The holiday season is in full swing in NYC, and the Saks Fifth Avenue holiday light show is ready to dazzle New Yorkers and tourists alike beginning November 24th.
Should you be uptown on Monday, why not stop by the free seasonal kickoff? Given the show’s absence last year, everyone’s ready to welcome back the tradition.
Intel on the Saks Fifth Avenue light show
In early September, news broke across social media that the iconic holiday display — which was abruptly cancelled in 2024 — is back on this year. @mychristmasinnewyork did the honors of exciting the Buddy the Elves amongst us with a splashy headline: “Saks Light Show 2025 Officially Returning.”
Additionally, the outlet shared a quote from the store’s Chief Commercial Officer, Emily Essner: “The Saks Fifth Avenue flagship holiday light show, which was cancelled last year…is being revived this year and opening in November.”

Secret NYC has reached out to Saks for confirmation, and according to the store’s spokesperson, the news is indeed true! “The Saks Fifth Avenue light show will be returning this year.
According to a press release, “The lights will dance to a curated medley of uplifting music, creating a luminous celebration of light and sound.” Six windows will be decked out as well, and this year, they will be NYC-centric: snowy Central Park, a fashionable, Saks’ take on the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, and so forth.
“In our 100th year, which also marks the anniversary of the flagship, we are celebrating the season by honoring the architectural significance of this iconic building, elegantly illuminating the façade and framing the holiday windows, as well as highlighting the fashion for which Saks Fifth Avenue is known,” a statement read.
Ready to head uptown? We certainly are! Meet you there between 4-5pm!
