With everyone comparing NYC to Gotham City as of late, it’s only fitting that Batman is set to celebrate his 85th birthday in NYC this weekend!
Warner Bros. Discovery is celebrating this iconic day by giving out free Batman comic books around NYC, and there will be a special giveaway held this weekend, Saturday, March 30th, at SoHo News International.
Those that head to SoHo News International will find the newsstand totally transformed in a way to help fans memorialize the moment they first met Batman. Limited copies of a special Batman 85th anniversary printing of Detective Comics #27 will be given away for free on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The giveaway also features a modern retelling of the The Case of the Chemical Syndicate from 1939.
The comic books will be given away between 11am and 6pm while supplies last.
Beyond the SoHo News location, fans can find copies of the anniversary edition at the following locations (while supplies last) beginning March 30th:
- Action City Comics
- Alex’s MVP Cards & Comics
- Bulletproof Comics and Games
- Forbidden Planet NYC
- St. Mark’s Comics
- Midtown Comics Times Square
- Midtown Comics Grand Central
- Midtown Comics Downtown
The best part–the free Batman comic books giveaway is only just the beginning of Batman’s 85th birthday celebrations. This year annual Batman Day will fall on September 21st, and DC has way more celebrations in store.
