Badass Animal Rescue, a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating dogs from high-kill shelters, has announced their annual outdoor street fest, Woofstock: Badass Spring Fest!, is returning to NYC this May!
Now in its ninth year, the highly anticipated event promises an unforgettable day of celebration, community, and, most importantly, adorable dogs.
Hosted in collaboration with Canal Bar, a local Gowanus favorite, Woofstock will transform President Street into a vibrant hub of activities, food, and entertainment for families, dog lovers, and anyone looking to have a blast while supporting dog rescue.
And the best part–the event is free!
Krista Almqvist, Executive Director at Badass Animal Rescue, stated:
“We are thrilled to be back on President street for our annual event Woofstock: Badass Spring Fest…This event is all about bringing the community together for a day that celebrates every aspect of what makes Badass so special. Our largest free community event filled with fun, dogs and celebration. All are welcome so come join us!
Attendees can look forward to endless activities catered to both humans and their furry friends, along with an array of local artisans and food vendors, music, and even a photographer taking professional photos.
Highlights will include a magician for dogs, face painting, and, our personal favorite, a doggy kissing booth!
30+ dogs ready to be adopted will also be at the event from 12pm to 3pm, eagerly awaiting their fur-ever homes.
Since beginning in 2011, Badass Animal Rescue has been at the forefront of responsible rescue efforts, having already saved over 3,600 dogs from high-risk situations. The organization focuses on rescuing dogs from underserved communities in the rural American South and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Woofstock: Badass Spring Fest! is a way for attendees to support the dog rescue, such as with an exciting raffle!
Woofstock promises a day filled with joy, laughter, and, of course, plenty of wagging tails! You can learn more and RSVP here.
