NYC’s first self portrait photo studio has just arrived, and it’s completely changing the way we take selfies and professional photos.
FotoLab makes you your very own professional photographer. Using a clicker you’ll be able to snap photos that then get displayed on a digital screen, allowing you to take a look and make any adjustments you wish so you can be sure to snap the perfect shot!
The concept, which is popular in Korea, was opened by couple Alan Li and Jamie Kim after realizing no such thing existed in NYC. Those interested simply just have to show up–FotoLab provides the rest.
The photos taken at FotoLab aren’t your everyday run-of-the-mill selfie, either. They’re professional, studio-quality shots. And whether you’re looking for professional photos or would like to have a fun photoshoot with friends, FotoLab is the spot.
FotoLab provides you with your own private room to snap photos for 20 minutes, equipped with a professional setup.
Room 1 allows you to take a maximum of 8 full-body photos against a white backdrop, while Room 2 allows for a maximum of 6 half-body photos against a color backdrop.
After 20 minutes of snapping photos you’ll have 10 minutes to choose your four favorites to print in 5×7″ prints. Sessions cost $80 for two people, with several add-on options, such as the ability to receive digital files of all your photos for an extra $30.
The best part–pets are encouraged, and who wouldn’t want a professional photoshoot with their pooch?!
FotoLab is more than just a place to take pictures. Music throughout the studio ensures the experience is upbeat, making it more exciting than just going somewhere to snap photos.
So, once you’re camera ready and feeling photogenic book your session here, and get ready to strike your best poses!
