This February 14th, Rockefeller Center is bringing the romance with their ‘Love at the Center’ celebration. From edible treats to jaw-dropping displays, you’re sure to be delighted by all the festivities.
Thanks to talented florist, Lewis Miller, Rockefeller Center will be home to two blossoming ‘Flower Flashes‘ this Valentine’s Day.
Stand beneath over 3,000 flowers creating an enchanting arch in the middle of Rockefeller Plaza. The show-stopping display makes for the perfect photo-op—or wedding ceremony venue!
That’s right, you can get married under the Flower Flash arch today or renew your vows up until 4pm today. Past 4 o’clock, visitors will be able to take the flowers used in the installation home and at no cost!
You can find their second display at the Top of the Rock where hundreds of proposals have happened over the years. This Flower Flash perfectly frames the Empire State Building for one magical sight you won’t find anywhere else. The design is reminiscent of a time before cellphones and selfies, when photos were taken in front of decorative backdrops.
Crescent moons were a common backdrop choice “in a sky full of stars to portray the illusion that people were literally sitting in the sky,” shared Lewis Miller Designs. “We traded stars for New York’s iconic skyline and fresh-cut flowers for clouds.”
“Taking in the view from Top of the Rock, sharing something sweet from one of our shops, holding hands for a spin around The Rink, exchanging vows at the Rainbow Room—for generations, Rockefeller Center has been synonymous with romance,” said EB Kelly, Managing Director at Tishman Speyer and Head of Rockefeller Center in years past.
Visitors can also explore Valentine’s Day-inspired specials at Rockefeller Center retailers and enjoy themed dining options at the campus’ many restaurants. Learn about more holiday happenings at Rockefeller Center’s website here.
