We’re nearly a year away from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and today the official poster for New York/New Jersey has been revealed!
Brooklyn-based artist Richard Tu honors the Big Apple (and our friends in New Jersey) with a design featuring colorful and impactful imagery of local landmarks like the Statue of Liberty and dice symbolizing Atlantic City in New Jersey.
This is one of 16 posters representing the 16 host cities, all of which will be under a global spotlight during June and July 2026.
Tu’s design prominently features a soccer ball in the torch of the Statue of Liberty, one of the world’s most unmistakable landmarks. The liberty blue/green is present throughout and the bright orange flames are inspired by both New Jersey and other prominent sports teams around the NYC area.
In and around this imagery you’ll also see some “easter eggs” as the artist calls them which pay homage to both NYC and New Jersey.
Scattered throughout: the Statue of Liberty’s face, a pizza slice (because duh), a pair of dice to represent Atlantic City’s home state of New Jersey, a Big Apple, a cleat, and sampaguitas, which are the national flower of Tu’s home country of Philippines.
As mentioned, Rich Tu is a first generation Filipino-American and award-winning artist and creative residing in Brooklyn, NY.
He’s a Partner and Executive Creative Director at creative studio Sunday Afternoon, and has held creative roles over the years at places like MTV Entertainment Group, and Nike Inc.
Tu has won plenty of art awards as well, including the ADC Awards and the Webby Awards, and has worked with some of the world’s biggest brands like The New York Times, Nike, G-Shock, Budweiser, and more.
He also recently open his solo exhibit, Human Response, which got nominated for a Webby Award.
Tu’s poster is the 14th poster revealed during a month-long rollout.
