As co-stars and fans cry out for the passing of Friends star Matthew Perry, New Yorkers have turned to the Friends apartment to leave bouquets of flowers in his honor. Located in the West Village at 90 Bedford St., dozens of flowers lay in front of the building.
Many also gathered at New York City’s Friends Experience to celebrate his life and career. Here, fans are able to relive their favorite moments of the sitcom, many involving the humor of Mathew Perry’s character, Chandler Bing, and the many laughs he brought viewers across the world.
“He was in pain and he had so many demons and he suffered for so long…As I’m trying to come to terms with it, I hope he’s at peace,” said one fan to the New York Times after their journey to the experience on Lexington Avenue.
According to TMZ who first broke the news, Perry was said to have returned home from a pickle ball session before being found unresponsive in his jacuzzi. Sources told TMZ that no drugs were found on site and no signs of foul play.
Peer, Maggie Wheeler, who played Chandler’s on-and-off again girlfriend Janice wrote her condolences in an Instagram post that read “What a loss. The world will miss you Matthew Perry. The joy you brought to so many in your too short lifetime will live on. I feel so very blessed by every creative moment we shared.”
