The train’s service schedules on weekdays and weekends can differ immensely, depending on which lines you need most. Train lines you’re used to relying on can switch routes, or shut down completely for the weekend. Certain stations aren’t even be open! Not to mention the wait time between train arrivals can feel like forever.
To help us laugh through the pain of commuting via subway on weekends we’ve put together a running list of gifs that perfectly explain the struggles of discovering a 35 minutes ride to your friend’s place may end up taking you over an hour (or longer if you’re trying to get around at night).
When you get to your subway station and it’s closed:
When the train Google Maps tells you to take isn’t stopping at the station you need:
When you realize too late that the line you’re on was rerouted for the weekend:
When you just missed the train and the next one says it’ll be there in 17 minutes (shout out to the 1, 2, 3 line):
When the only way to your destination is by shuttle:
When you feel like you’re the only one who didn’t get the subway service changes memo:
When the train you needs flies past saying “OUT OF SERVICE”:
When you’re in a rush and the express train is now running local:
When you decide to take a car service to bypass all potential scenarios that will piss you off:
When everything actually runs smoothly:
