The Empire State Building tower lights illuminate the night sky for special occasions, and if you’re currently outside it may already be lit red!
In honor of the upcoming Lunar New Year this weekend (Saturday, January 25), the Empire State Building is lighting up red tonight (Thursday, January 23). According to the Chinese Lunar New Year, 2020 is the year of the Rat—which is quite fitting for NYC, don’tcha think?
According to Chinese Zodiac, “in Chinese culture, rats were seen as a sign of wealth and surplus.” Meaning this year is expected to bring good fortune, success, and wealth! We’ll be waiting on those results…
The lights atop the ESP will be visible throughout the city from sunset until 2 a.m.
