The American Songbook series returns to NYC this March with another stellar lineup of shows and artists. Curated by Tony Award-winning artist-in-residence Clint Ramos, this year’s edition explores diverse artistic traditions, from musical theater performances to genre-crossing concerts. The series is looking particularly bright for jazz music, as singer-songwriter Sandra St. Victor and multiple GRAMMY Award winner Mark Batson celebrate two influential jazz legends at Jazz at Lincoln Center.
ELLA & THE DUKE: Concert details
The lead singer of The Family Stand and accomplished soloist Sandra St. Victor joins forces with producer and pianist Mark Batson to honor two legends that have defined the jazz genre. Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington were one of the most significant collaborations in jazz history. In 2026, history repeats itself with Victor and Batson making their name as powerhouses of jazz, who find parallels between their personal experiences and those of their inspirations.
The narrated concert will take place at The Appel Room, located on the sixth floor of Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall. This elegant venue is designed to resemble a small Greek amphitheater, featuring a wall of glass overlooking Central Park, Columbus Circle, and the Manhattan skyline. Between the incredible talent and stunning atmosphere, it’s gearing up to be one of the most anticipated jazz performances of the season.
