Hoping the Easter Bunny will bring you something rich both in flavor and appearance this Sunday? Look no further than the Upper West Side’s Sugar and Plumm, where you can dish out $10,000 for a gigantic, lavish chocolate egg.
There it is, the delicious masterpiece of edible white, dark and milk chocolate with intricately painted 3-D chickens, eggs and nests, standing at a towering four feet tall and weighing in at 40 pounds. The gold detailed design, hand-painted by the bistro’s head chocolatier Antoine Tremblay under the guidance of Thierry Atlan, took over 100 hours to complete.
Can’t afford this scrumptious piece of chocolatey goodness? They’ve also got festive bunnies, Mr. Potato Head-esque candy eggs and countless cakes and sundaes, all for a much smaller price tag.
Here’s a look at the golden eggs from the past few years. Which one would you like to sink your sweet tooth into?
