This morning, commuters in NYC either experienced the ultimate surprise or suffered from severe FOMO as Jimmy Fallon and Ed Sheeran performed an impromptu show in the subway.
Over the years, Jimmy Fallon has brought a plethora of A-list celebrities, from Miley Cyrus to Hozier and now Ed Sheeran, into the NYC subway to put on impromptu concerts for hurrying commuters. Hurrying commuters, who might we add, suddenly had nothing to rush to once Fallon and Sheeran stripped themselves of their disguises.
The pair performed Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club” in black wigs before revealing their true identities to give onlookers a first listen of Ed Sheeran’s new single “Azizam.”
Sheeran’s new single officially comes out on April 4th, followed by his upcoming album with no official release date as of yet. It will be the English singer-songwriter’s eighth studio album.
This isn’t the first time Sheeran mad an appearance in the NYC subway, when he sang alongside a former America’s Got Talent contestant back in 2023.
