From diners in Queens to the waterfront in Brooklyn, drive-in cinemas are all the rage this summer, and now one is coming to Orchard Beach in the Bronx every weekend in July!
Tribeca Enterprises, which organizes and hosts the Tribeca Film Festival in NYC every year, has announced the dates and locations of their brand new “Tribeca Drive-In” experience, a drive-in entertainment series that will take place throughout July in cities all across the U.S.
They’ve partnered with IMAX and AT&T in order to bring new, classic and independent films (plus special music and sports events) to families in a safe way during the COVID-19 lockdowns. And they’re coming to Orchard Beach in NYC (located at Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx)!
They’re also popping up at Nickerson Beach on Long Island, the Rose Bowl in L.A., and the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
They will show over 30 iconic movies coast to coast, every single weekend in July. And they’ll also have special screenings for healthcare and frontline workers and concessions from local businesses to support the local community!
Here’s what the schedule looks like in NYC so far:
- Palm Springs, July 9
- Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, July 10
- Black Panther, July 11
- Love & Basketball, July 12
- The Dark Knight, July 16
- Superbad, July 17
- Straight Outta Compton, July 18
