If anyone visited the Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen pop-up exhibit last year—which followed the brilliant theme of the Olsen Twins Hiding from the Paparazzi—you’ll love the exhibit that just opened up in Brooklyn. The gallery is solely dedicated to the pop culture drama of the early 2000s and can be seen at The THNK1994 Museum until September 10. It was created in collaboration with the popular Instagram account Pop Culture Died in 2009.
At a time where society is bringing back so many trends from the 90s, some of us are in desperate need of post-90s Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton drama. The announcement of the pop up exhibit is cleverly written as an email that looks like it was sent out, well, in 2007…around the time that Nicole Richie’s party email invitation leaked. Don’t remember? No worries, this gallery will quickly jog your memory.
As the event’s “shocking” e-mail invite states, the exhibit will focus its theme on Nicole Richie’s 2007 Memorial Day BBQ. Some celebrity scandals you’ll find at the gallery include potential invites to that infamous party such as Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, and Mischa Barton. If you absolutely can’t part with a piece, don’t fret because they’re on the museum website for purchase. So you can take home a painting of the famous paparazzi photograph of Lindsay, Britney, and Paris in a car—for $3,000 that is.
