After a glorious end of the week, the weekend saw the weather slowly decline into a wet mess… because NYC. It’s hard to fully explain how changeable and unpredictable the weather here is to people who don’t live here, so let us do it for you:
1. Wake up
The sun peaks through that crack in the curtains hitting you square in the eye. Sure, it’s annoying to wake up call from the almighty, but at least we’re gonna have a sunny day! We should probably dress accordingly.
2. Dressing for the weather
Dressing according to the weather is like gambling. But today you feel lucky, screw it, time to finally crack out that summer gear you picked up in the fall sales… because there’s no way the weather will screw you over today, right? Wrong.
3. Going to work
So after the baking sun, you step outside just in time for the wet-apocalypse. You are ridiculously under-dressed for a torrential downpour, and there’s no way you’re scaling up your you 5th-floor walkup for a jacket. At least the sun and wet has made the subway smell like a mixture of baked cabbage and wet dog… at least your day can’t get any worse, right?
4. Arriving at work…
You made it through the storm to the office entrance …But today you feel lucky, screw it, time to finally crack out that summer gear you picked up in the fall sales… because there’s no way the weather will screw you over today, right? Wrong.
5. At work
The AC isn’t on yet at work and the sun obviously came out as soon as you started working… At least your work colleges feel your pain.
6. Afterwork
The sun is almost gone and the skyscrapers are starting to hide it… And you just can’t walk in the shade… Too cold!
7. Getting home
When you thought weather was done changing, it hits you one last time to wish you good evening. How? With a little bit of wind.
8. Arriving at home
Thankfully you got home on time. Outside NYC is being bombarded by ice cubes… Yeah, spring in the city isn’t for the faint of heart! We wouldn’t be new yorkers if we couldn’t handle it!
