NYC Parks hat offiziell sein beliebtes Programm „Movies Under the Stars“ für 2026 vorgestellt, das Parks in allen fünf Stadtbezirken mit über 300 völlig kostenlosen Filmabenden in Open-Air-Kinos verwandelt.

Lust auf ein bisschen Sommerkino unter den Sternen?

Okay, nicht ein bisschen – sondern sehr. NYC Parks hat offiziell sein beliebtes „Movies Under the Stars“-Programm für 2026 vorgestellt, und die diesjährige Saison ist größer denn je. Von Frühling bis Herbst verwandeln mehr als 300 kostenlose Filmvorführungen im Freien Parks in allen fünf Stadtbezirken in Open-Air-Kinos und bringen alles von nostalgischen Klassikern bis hin zu neuen Familienfavoriten direkt in die Nachbarschaft.

Egal, ob du mit Freunden eine Decke ausbreitest, Essen zum Mitnehmen für ein Picknick bei Sonnenuntergang einpackst oder deinen Lieblingsfilm unter der Skyline noch einmal genießt – die jährliche Reihe ist zu einer der schönsten Traditionen New York Citys bei warmem Wetter geworden. Das diesjährige Programm umfasst Publikumslieblinge wie „Wicked“, „Encanto“, „Lilo & Stitch“ und „Dirty Dancing“ sowie Indie-Filme, Dokumentationen, Studentenvorführungen und sogar eine Fußballserie zum Thema FIFA-Weltmeisterschaft.

Und in einem Sommer, in dem sich so ziemlich alles teuer anfühlt, bleibt dies einer der besten kostenlosen Ausgehabende der Stadt: Komm einfach vorbei, such dir ein Plätzchen auf dem Rasen und lass den Park für den Abend zu deinem Kino werden.
