In times like these, don’t you wish you could just hop in a time machine?
Fortunately, that’s the order of play with this one. All the way to 1997, to be precise. A reading of “Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone” will be carried out in full by a host of celebrities. Each big name will read a chapter in a series of videos for Harry Potter at Home, an online portal launched by J.K. Rowling.
And, of course, Daniel Radcliffe, i.e. Harry Potter himself, is involved. The names also announced so far are:
- David Beckham
- Steven Fry
- Dakota Fanning
- Claudia Kim
- Noma Dumezweni
- Eddie Redmayne
And there will be even more names to follow!

Chapter One, which is titled (and read by!) “The Boy Who Lived”, is available now on both Wizarding World (here) and Spotify (here).
All 17 chapters of ‘Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone’ will be gradually released on Wizarding World into the summer. An audio-only version of each reading will also become available on Spotify.
Parents, teachers and carers working to keep children amused and interested while we’re on lockdown might need a bit of magic, so I’m delighted to launch https://t.co/cPg0dZpexB pic.twitter.com/i0ZjTplVoU

And, if that wasn’t enough, the audiobook for Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone is free to stream on Amazon Audible now.
Add these to the virtual tours plus the online portal, and it’s safe to say that this lockdown might just be sponsored by Harry Potter. Not that we’re complaining. Wands at the ready, witches and wizards!
Check out the first chapter, tune in for updates on the remaining chapters, and see what else is going on at Wizarding World right here.
