Just as American Dream wraps up its massive World Cup takeover, New Jersey’s sprawling retail hub is proving it isn’t ready to let go of soccer fever just yet.
This Saturday, July 25, the second-largest mall in the U.S. is pulling off a wild transformation: taking its full-sized, professional indoor ice rink and converting it into a high-octane 5-a-side soccer pitch.
What to expect on the pitch
Organized by NJ Footy and The Footy League (the largest adult recreational soccer league in the country) the Cup of Dreams is replacing traditional 11-on-11 soccer with small-sided, lightning-fast play.
By building a custom pitch directly over the ice rink footprint, the 5-a-side format creates a non-stop, high-scoring spectacle where players are constantly locked in tight footwork, rapid transitions, and quick decision-making.
Squads representing various skill levels from across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, and New Jersey will battle through a guaranteed group stage before moving into a high-stakes knockout bracket.

- By Bus from Jersey: Riders coming from Hoboken or Jersey City can hop on the 85 bus.
- By Car: Drivers coming from Manhattan can expect a 20-to-30-minute trip via the Lincoln Tunnel, depending on traffic.
