New Jersey’s American Dream mall never seems to slow down, and just as the FIFA World Cup wraps up its 39-day takeover of the property, the massive entertainment complex is already onto its next big swing.
The second-largest mall in the U.S. officially opened a brand-new 60,000-square-foot Event Center, and it comes with one of the best views in the building
Here’s everything worth knowing about the mall’s newest addition.
What’s actually inside this new space
The Event Center sits inside The Avenue, American Dream’s luxury shopping and dining wing, and it’s built to flex for almost anything.
It can hold up to 3,500 guests, with room for more than 300 exhibitor booths and 190 banquet tables, plus four breakout rooms and dedicated registration areas for larger events.
The real showstopper is a floor-to-ceiling window wall that frames sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline, turning what could’ve been a standard convention hall into something a lot more photogenic.
Unlike a typical trade show venue, guests booked here also get access to everything else the mall offers, including more than 30 attractions, 105 dining destinations, and the property’s full retail lineup.
It’s less “conference room with bad lighting” and more “convention center that happens to be attached to an indoor ski hill.”
A second new venue just opened right alongside it
The Event Center wasn’t the only debut.
American Dream also just opened the Dream Live Performing Arts Center, a separate multi-purpose venue built for concerts, comedy, theater, and live sports, kicking things off on July 25 with VFL 4: Havoc on the Hudson.
The space comes loaded with an L-Acoustics sound system, VIP suites, and elevated hospitality options, with Ticketmaster handling ticketing.

Why this fits right into American Dream’s playbook
At more than 3 million square feet, American Dream has held its spot as the second-largest mall in the country since it opened in 2019, trailing only Mall of America.
The mall has leaned hard into oversized, only-here experiences lately, from the 39-day Dream Fan Fest tied to the World Cup to the still-running Bubble Planet, an eight-room immersive world of oversized bubbles, VR, and a hot air balloon flight simulator on Level 3 that’s become one of the mall’s most talked-about attractions.
If a trip out to East Rutherford is already on the calendar, it’s an easy one to pair with the new Event Center opening, and tickets for Bubble Planet are still available for anyone who wants to build out a full day at the property.

Getting there from NYC
Reaching American Dream from Manhattan is easier than people expect.
The NJ Transit 355 bus runs a direct express route from Port Authority Bus Terminal, with the trip taking under 30 minutes.
Riders coming from Hoboken or Jersey City can also hop the 85 bus, and drivers can expect a similar 20 to 30-minute trip depending on traffic.
