The sad news of Toby Keith’s death was first announced on his official website, stating the singer’s passing at the age of 62 on the night of February 5th, 2024.
Keith had been getting treated for stomach cancer with radiation, chemotherapy and surgery after his diagnosis in 2021. According to The New York Times and his website, he passed in Oklahoma surrounded by family.
Toby Keith was known for his hits “Should’ve Been A Cowboy,” “Red Solo Cup,” “Beer for My Horses,” and many more.
Before stardom, Keith was an oil rig worker and a semi-pro footballer. Eventually, he made his way to Nashville before creating a relationship with Harold Shedd from Mercury Records who helped kick-start his music career.
As of now his family has asked for privacy.
