The last time you could get a 5-cent hotdog on Coney Island was when Nathan’s first opened over 100 years ago…until now!
In a true “throwback Thursday” promotion, Nathan’s Famous will be offering 5-cent hotdogs with the purchase of any regularly priced food item from 5 p.m. until closing on Thursdays. There’s currently no end in sight for the special deal.
Eater first reported the news, and clarified with employees that there is no limit to how many hotdogs you can get, though you do have to get a substantial food item like burgers, hot dogs or fries; the 99-cent apple pies don’t count!
And it’s a pretty great deal — hotdogs are normally $4.75, and are quite special. Senior director of marketing Phil McCann said only five people in the world currently know the recipe for the famous ‘dogs.
If you want to forgo tradition, don’t forget that Nathan’s is also introducing vegan hot dogs this summer!
