Ready a vase and/or Mason jar: the CJ Hendry Flower Market is slated for a return to NYC this weekend. We’re dreaming of our DIY bouquet as we speak.
Earlier this year, the conceptual artist brought us the oh-so-fabulous interactive balloon fun house titled “Keff Joons.” Now, she’s pivoting to a previous exhibition and giving it a refresh in a new location.
If you love the creator’s work and fancy a few (faux) florals for your home come fall, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about Flower Market 2.0.

As you might recall, last year’s Flower Market on Randall’s Island — complete with thousands of felt sunflowers, roses, daisies, and beyond — garnered a star-studded crowd with the likes of Martha Stewart and plenty of social media fanfare, and rightfully so — it was nothing short of fantastic.
However, some confusion came into play when the exhibit was not permitted to run its final day on Randall’s Island, leaving Hendry scrambling to find a new location in a split second. (She did — Industry City.)
Now, a more official and less spontaneous installation is venturing to Rockefeller Center one year later from September 19th to 21st. And fortunately for those with a (faux) green thumb, this year’s experience will be bigger and bolder with 27 different types of flowers. Visitors can also expect original artworks, editioned floral wall sculptures, limited-edition merch like tees and totes.
Additionally, there will be programming with Space Club, a sensory playground for kids of all ages, and a limited-edition 28th flower design on view exclusively at Top of the Rock, which requires a purchase online or at the box office while supplies last.
The artist took to Instagram to reveal the exciting news…in all caps. (We feel the same level of excitement, honestly.)
