Thoughts of a day spent at the ball park often bring one thing to mind–a ball park hot dog. But hey, us vegans gotta eat too–and we definitely need way more than just peanuts and cracker jacks!
Plus, considering New York is the most vegan-obsessed state, there’s definitely enough of us ready to gobble down some vegan eats while watching the game. But, thankfully, NYC is the third most vegan-friendly city in the world, and it shows at Citi Field!
A recent study done by Betting.com studied the menus at each of the 88 major U.S. sports venues across the NBA, NFL, and MLB to see how easy it is for vegans and vegetarians to grab a bite to eat during game time, and as it turns out, New York Mets’ Citi Field is home to the best vegan options in the MLB!
In fact, 1 in 7 items on the menu cater to vegans, including everything from jackfruit nachos and beyond sausage rolls to mushroom cheese steaks. And, of course, there is a Vegan City Dog that is deliciously topped with jack fruit chili and vegan cheese fondue.
So, at least us vegans know that next time we’re at a game rooting for the Mets they can be doing so with a hot dog in their hand!
The tasty vegan bites can be found at Vegan City, located on the field level behind section 105.
