If you fancy a European winter getaway without the plane trip, we found an alternative.
Nestled in the beloved Love Park, Christmas Village in Philadelphia makes for a great adventure outside of NYC and adds an authentic German flair that mirrors the popular Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt — sans international flight.
Much like NYC’s beloved holiday markets, this Philly tradition sets up shop in one of the city’s most iconic locations — Love Park is located in the backdrop of Philadelphia’s city hall — and has plenty of vendors, bites, and seasonal decor that will put even the crankiest of Scrooges in the Christmas spirit.
Thinking about a weekend trip? Now might be the time to venture out of your apartment — but don’t forget to pack a puffer coat.

Other things to do at the 2025 event
After munching and browsing vendors, there’s still plenty to enjoy at Christmas Village in Philly.
For the third year in a row, Love Park’s Festival of Trees will return with lively spruces and firs, all for a good cause — to support families at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Should you be arriving with a young’un in tow, there are plenty of options for pictures with Santa and rides on a kids’ train and a double decker holiday carousel. (Hey, we have one of those in NYC now, too!)
The 21+ crowd will enjoy wine tastings throughout the market, and those with a creative flair can show off their skills at the holiday greenery workshops.
So, will we see you in Philly this holiday season? Here’s hoping! Learn more about the city tradition online.
