Saturday Night Live has been bringing celebrity hosts together with an award-winning cast to perform comedic sketches, satirical news, and musical acts for five decades. This year, the beloved New York-based sketch comedy series is celebrating its 50th anniversary–the series aired on October 11th, 1975–with an amazing lineup.
And on Saturday, November 2nd, Midwest Princess, aka Chappell Roan, performed on the show for the milestone season’s fifth episode as comedian John Mulaney assumed hosting duties.
What songs did Chappell Roan sing on SNL?
Much to fans’ delight, Chappell Roan performed “Pink Pony Club,” one of the hit singles from her 2023 debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess. But she also threw fans with a bit of a loop by performing a new song called “The Giver.”

“The Giver” is a new country song from the songstress with an LGBTQ+ anthem: “All you country boys think you know how to treat a woman right. Well, only a woman knows how to treat a woman right.” She gets the job done.”

Over the years, cast members have included Jimmy Fallon, Will Ferrell, Seth Meyers, Eddie Murphy, Amy Poehler, Chris Rock, Maya Rudolph, Andy Samberg, Kristen Wiig, and many more.
