You read that right. Central Perk, the famous coffee shop from Friends, may actually become a real café—if Warner Bros. decides to take that route.
We know what you’re thinking: “well, duh!” But Warner Bros. has just officially taken the first steps toward making that possibility a reality!
Court documents were recently obtained and released by The Blast indicating that Warner Bros. Entertainment acquired the trademark copyrights to the name and logo for Central Perk to use for “coffee shop and cafe services; coffee bars; tea bars; snack bars.”
In the document the famous window logo is transcribed as “a banner above a shaded oval flanked by coffee cups with steam rising above them.”
While this could mean next to nothing, we’re all hoping what it really means is that Warner Bros. plans on opening up real Central Perk coffee shops soon! The only time we’ve been blessed with this television café was during a pop-up in New York for the show’s 20th anniversary.
Fingers crossed these documents mean what we think they mean!
