Adrenaline junkies, we just found your new favorite way to travel along the Northeast: via zipline! The Catamount Zip Tour in New York boasts the country’s longest zipline, spanning far enough to make it to Massachusetts.
The experience is a two-hour adventure that will take participants on a chairlift ride up the mountain to soar across a total of three dual-zipline spans. The real record breaker is the final zipline, also referred to as the “Cata-monster,” that makes for the longest zipline in America, extending just over one mile long.
Whether you’ve got a need for speed or prefer to slowly take in the view, the breaking system allows total rider speed control, letting you go up to 55+mph! Got some nerves? Don’t stress! The tour will be complete with a safety training and harness fitting to ensure you’re well equipped for the ride!
Interested tour goers must be at least 10 years old, 55 inches tall and weigh between 50-260lbs. Those under 18 years of age will need a signed waiver from a legal guardian. Closed toed shoes must be worn and skirts or short shorts are discouraged. The whole experience costs $99 per person.
The Catamount Zip Tour is just one of the many fun activities found at Catamount Mountain Resort that borders New York and Massachusetts. Plus, it’s all just a 2.5 hour drive from NYC!
With warm weather coming up, this is surely the most exhilarating way to see an aerial view of the Tri-State area. However, since the tour is such a unique experience it tends to fill up fast. Therefore, it is recommend to reserve your spot as most weekends get booked up fairly quick in the summertime.
