By Car (Driving)
The drive from Manhattan or Brooklyn takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on traffic. Take the Lincoln or Holland Tunnel to the New Jersey Turnpike South, exit onto the Garden State Parkway South, and follow it all the way to the very end (Exit 0). From there, follow signs into the heart of historic Cape May toward Lafayette Street.
By Public Transportation
- By Train: For a classic rail experience, take Amtrak or NJ Transit from Penn Station to Newark or Trenton, transfer to the Atlantic City Rail Line, and use a local bus or rideshare to cover the final coastal stretch into Cape May.
- NJ Transit Bus: You can take the NJ Transit Route 319 Bus directly from the Port Authority Bus Terminal in NYC to the Cape May Welcome Center. The ride is direct, highly scenic, and drops you off right at the rail bike check-in location!
