We couldn’t help but wonder how Carrie Bradshaw came to be, so we’re turning to Candace Bushnell for all the juicy details.
The author and Sex and the City creator is giving fans the scoop with her one-night-only, one-woman show, True Tales of Sex, Success, and Sex and the City this May. Raise your cosmos and cheers to this exciting event. Though it goes without saying, this occasion calls for your very best pair of heels.
In true Buschnell fashion, this memoir of sorts will ultimately feel like a chat with your closest friends — much like the series we know and love. Expect to dabble in the interworking of the writer’s first byline, her own love story (spoiler: the IRL Mr. Big isn’t so great), and but of course, how everyone’s favorite quartet came to be upon the release of Bushnell’s 1996 book, Sex and the City.
Trust us, you can’t get any closer to Carrie than this. For those who are constantly watching reruns on Netflix and for those who are following along with And Just Like That, this one-night-only experience deserves a slot in your calendar, especially after a successful run overseas.
“The show is uplifting, hilarious and blunt – and the chance to see the women who started it all in the flesh was an honor of the highest order,” Theatre & Tonic claims.
Be sure to peruse all live shows and performances in NYC ahead of Candace’s return to the Big Apple. And, of course, we highly recommend a cheeseburger, fries, and cosmopolitan during those SATC Netflix binges — Carrie wouldn’t have it any other way.
