NYC is known to have some pretty extravagant food creations—like 24-karat gold chicken wings, most expensive cup of coffee, or largest Moscow Mule—but as of this week, it’s also home to “The World’s Most Expensive Milkshake.”
According to the Guinness World Record, Serendipity 3 is behind this decadent treat. Sure, they may have a $1,000 sundae, but now you can order a $100 LUXE Milkshake to wash down all the ice cream…and gold.

The luxurious shake was created for National Vanilla Milkshake Day (Wed. June 20), and is served in a glass covered in over 3,000 Swarovski crystals. The designer of the custom glass is Master Artist Kelli DeFries.
The milkshake itself was developed by chef Joe Calderone, who has been the mastermind behind several other extravagant Serendipity 3 concoctions. The ingredients include: Tahitian vanilla ice cream, jersey milk, Devonshire luxury clotted cream, Le Cremose Baldizzone (donkey caramel sauce), grass-fed whipped cream, Madagascar vanilla beans, Luxardo gourmet maraschino cherries, and, of course, 23 karat edible gold.
