Forget buffalo wings, gold wings are about to hit NYC.
On Tuesday (May 1), Foodgōd 24 Karat Wings will debut at The Ainsworth. For those who aren’t aware, Foodgōd is the instagram name Jonathan Cheban now goes by. He is partnering up with The Ainsworth to bring New Yorkers some classic classy bar food you’ll be inclined to devour with those pinkies way up.
The next-level golden chicken wings will be soaked for 24 hours in a coconut butter, chipotle and honey batter before being fried and then coated with gold flakes. Once ordered the wings will again be lightly dusted with flakes—for good measure—and will come with a side of blue cheese.
So what’s the damage for these luxurious wings? According to Food & Wine, 10 wings will cost $30, 20 wings will cost $60, and 50 wings will come with a bottle of Champagne Armand de Brignac for a whopping $1,000.
Of the four Ainsworth NYC locations (and two in New Jersey) you will only find this menu item at the Chelsea and East Village restaurants. However, after it’s big debut, the plan is to roll out the wings to the rest of the restaurant’s locations.
