Just ahead of the release of Arrested Development’s 5th season, “never nudes” are coming together to show support in NYC.
Netflix will be hosting a “Never Nude” meetup where people are welcome to wear their jorts (jean shorts) and paint themselves blue on Friday, May 19. The gathering is in honor of Tobias Fünke (played by actor David Cross), the fictional character from Arrested Development who belongs to the Never Nude community (people who are afraid of complete nudity). In addition to wearing nothing but jean cutoff shorts, people are encourage to “blue themselves” as Tobias did in the episode where he attempts to audition for the Blue Man Group.
The event will take place at Washington Square Park from noon until 12:30 p.m. and then at the Mall in Central Park from 3:30 p.m. until 4 p.m., with surprise stops around the city in between!
“Never Nude Blitz” in NYC is part of the Bluth “campaign trail.” Traveling around the country in their Bluth Company car with stairs, they’ve already hit Washington, D.C. and Austin.
