You may have seen a recent video go viral of someone’s Brooklyn apartment kitchen completely collapsing in the middle of the night. Unfortunately, that traumatic experience happened to our very own videographer, Christine. So we chatted with her and got the inside scoop on how it all went down…
The collapse happened in the middle of the night (or very early morning) when her and her roommates heard a loud crash coming from the kitchen that could only be described as “an alien invasion or a car SLAMMING into the building.”
To their horror, they were greeted by a shattered ruin of what once was their kitchen. All cabinets (might we add filled with fragile glassware) had fallen off the wall and onto the floor in a broken mess of glass shards and wooden planks.
The china of other roommates Liz and Ben was destroyed, along with everyone’s plates, mugs and cups.
According to Christine, their landlord has been very responsive and has cleared all the wreckage. Cleaners arrived at the apartment on the same day. However, Christine and her roommates are still waiting on a solution to their now unserviceable kitchen. “For the most part, they’ve been pretty cool,” shared Christine.
The trio have been living in the Brooklyn apartment for less than a year, after moving in during November 2023. Prior to moving in, they were never made aware of any instability with the property’s interior. All roommates are still living in the apartment as of now.
