City Tamale specializes in making authentic Mexican tamales (and some with a twist) in the heart of the Bronx.
City Tamale opened in 2016 and has been serving hungry New Yorkers a selection of tamales and other classic Mexican dishes ever since. They even have vegan options, salads, and smoothies. Of course, the highlight of the menu is the tamales themselves.
For those that don’t know, tamales are a traditional dish made with dough or masa, stuffed with meat, cheese, and veggies. It is then steamed in a corn husk-which can be eaten or discarded- and voilà, a delicious and filling breakfast, lunch or dinner treat is made. Among some of the flavors on the menu are:
The Turkey Tamale with Mole Pablano.
The Pumpkin Tamale (seasonal).
And the spectacular Flamin’ Cheetos Tamale.
They’ve even got an Oreo Tamale!
Just look at ’em all together there.
How loud can you say “yum”?!
At $2.25 a piece, or three for $6 it’s well worth it to try a few!
