The nation’s largest and most impactful breast cancer movement is returning to Central Park this October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This annual event has taken place for the last three decades, inviting communities, companies, and individuals to fundraise and walk in support of breast cancer victims and survivors.
Here’s everything you need to know about the 2025 Making Strides of Central Park presented by Novartis.
When is it?
Making Strides of Central Park presented by Novartis will take place on Sunday, October 19th, 2025. The rolling start kicks off between 8:00am – 10:30am and ends around noon.
Where is it?
The walk takes place at Naumburg Bandshell on Central Park (West 66th St and Central Park West). Participants are advised to either enter from West 67th Street and Central Park West or Fifth Avenue and East 72nd Street.

Who can participate?
Anyone and everyone is welcome to join, regardless of fitness level. Even your furry friends are invited!
How do I register?
Everyone participating in the walk (besides children) must register. It is highly recommended to register in advance. There is no registration fee or minimum donation.

If you want to register in person, you can find QR codes all throughout the festival area to register and sign a waiver.

How long is the walk?
The entire walk is a 4-mile route, beginning and ending at The Naumburg Bandshell. Participants are welcome to pause or stop at any point along the route. “We all walk together, but our event is not a race,” writes Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
Where can I donate?
Donations (cash, credit, check) can be dropped off at the Product Sales tent located in the festival area.
Are there accessible restrooms?
Port-a-potties will be located in the festival area. Additional public restrooms can be found at Le Pain Quotidien and Bethesda Terrace.
Can I buy merch?
Merchandise can be purchased in the festival area.
