A Bradley Cooper cheesesteak spot is supposedly in the works in the East Village, so we’re adding the Philly-inspired destination to our list of new restaurants to try this year.
According to a report from Eater, the Maestro star is joining forces with with Danny DiGiampietro, the owner of Angelo’s Pizzeria in South Philly, to bring the eatery to life in 2025. You might recall that the A-list celeb previously partnered with DiGiampietro for a cheesesteak pop-up truck in NYC — donating proceeds to charity — so a stationary brick-and-mortar spot would be the next logical step, right? (*Crosses fingers*)
With a test-run in December, the duo and the staff of Danny & Coop’s Cheesesteaks served up a limited menu from 151 Avenue A between Ninth and 10th Streets, and hungry customers are certainly excited to see what’s next from Danny & Coop, naturally. If you had your Instagram handy, you might’ve caught Cooper’s girlfriend, model Gigi Hadid, sharing a photo of her foot-long sammie and urging New Yorkers to make a pitstop.
Reports suggest that DiGiampietro might be at the helm of the major undertakings, but it’s definitely an interesting career shift for The Hangover star, who seems to be maneuvering from behind the camera and into the kitchen. As more information becomes available on the eatery, its offerings, and when it’s officially opening for business, we’ll be sure to give you a heads up. Who doesn’t love a little taste of Philly tradition, right?
