
Queens is no stranger to film production; the borough is home to Astoria Kaufman Studios, Silvercup Studios, and Wildflower Studios, the world’s first-ever vertical film studio. But the borough isn’t stopping there–Queens’ latest film studio, Borden Studios, is now officially open in Long Island City!
Borden Studios first broke ground in the summer of 2022 and now occupies the upper two floors of a five-story, 840,000-square-foot development, The Borden Complex, at 23-30 Borden Avenue. The ground-up, purpose-built studio offers 232,935 square feet of world-class space, 54,000 of which is dedicated to four sound stages–each ranging from 11,600 to 15,200 square feet–with 40-foot ceilings and fully retractable walls so as to offer the possibility to transform them into two double sized spaces.
Beyond the stages, 41,200 square feet is dedicated to support space, including mill space with robust electrical capacity, full HVAC, and collapsible partitions, and flexible production offices make up an additional 70,300 square feet. Additional features include:
