This Body Positive Lingerie Fashion Show Took Over the Streets of Times Square

Last month an Anti-Victoria’s Secret fashion show took place celebrating women of all body types, showing the world that any woman is deserving of angel wings. With 2017 shaping up to be the year for women, we were excited to see yet another body positive fashion show take place this weekend in the heart of NYC.

On Saturday, Dec. 2, a guerrilla-style Lingerie Fashion used the streets of Times Square as its runway. That’s right, outside. In 40-degree weather. Tagged as #theREALcatwalk, this fashion show radiated confidence and inclusivity.

As the activist (and model) Khrystyana stated in her Instagram post of the event:

“These women will catwalk for ALL women to reinforce ONE beauty standard: BEING YOU. Because being YOU is the definition of beauty. We have girls flying in from other cities, representing different ethnicities and cultures. Some girls are curvy and some are petite, some are fit and some have never worked out. Women of different cultures, skin tones .There will be transgender women, women of different ages and sexual orientation, full made up face and some with no make up, waxed or unwaxed legs, vegans and carnivores . All walks of life are welcome and there’s no discrimination! Come watch and be inspired to LOVE YOUR body as it is on whatever path you are on.”

Although a bit controversial considering its outdoor presence, the event was empowering and inspirational to women everywhere with some even flying in specifically to take part in the fashion show.
