Bob Dylan is an iconic musician and equally iconic New Yorker, so it’s only fitting to celebrate the release of his biopic, A Complete Unknown, with pitstops to his favorite places in the West Village.
Beginning Monday, December 23rd, music fans and NYC history buffs can snag a spot on a Dylan-esque walking tour, courtesy of On Location Tours and Searchlight Pictures. The event will consist of ventures along MacDougal Street that are near and dear to the crooner’s heart: Caffe Reggio, Music Inn, and Folklore Center, to name a few.
Plus, when you stop for a breather in Caffe Dante, you can order “Like A Rolling Stone,” a cocktail made for the occasion in partnership with Heaven’s Door, a.k.a. Dylan’s whiskey brand.
On Location Tours — which is also known for excursions revolving around Carrie’s favorite places in Sex and the City and Blair Waldorf’s go-to’s in Gossip Girl — will host this Bob Dylan celebration until April 2025. Those interested in participating can join either a private or public tour with all of his go-to Village staples at their disposal.
A Complete Unknown, which hits theaters this Christmas and stars Timothée Chalamet, follows Dylan’s arrival in NYC in the ’60s. Time has passed for sure — some might say times are a-changin’ — but it’ll certainly be interesting to take in the city from the singer’s perspective.
To snag a spot or learn more about the forthcoming offering, visit On Location Tours’ website starting December 23rd.
And if you have $7.25 million to spare, you can buy Bob Dylan’s old NYC townhouse in Turtle Bay Gardens — the ultimate retreat for creatives. (But if that’s too much to swing, just catch A Complete Unknown in theaters on Christmas Day.)
