If you missed out on the viral sensation of the Timothée Chalamet lookalike contest, don’t think twice, it’s alright: there’s A Complete Unknown fan screening taking place ahead of the movie’s premiere on Christmas day, and the star himself will be in attendance.
On Saturday, December 14th at 8:30pm, you can celebrate the Bob Dylan biopic with Timothée and co. at Regal Cinemas in Union Square. Timothée will chat about his experience making the film, photo opps will abound, swag is up for grabs, and it’s set to be a stunning celebration for film and music buffs alike.
The film follows Bob Dylan’s arrival to NYC in the ’60s, as well as his complete upheaval of the folk scene. According to Searchlight Pictures, Timothée has been preparing for five years to take on this role, and he’s completely immersed himself in becoming the iconic musician.
“If you really want to capture the essence of Bob, it’s very multi-layered,” voice coach Eric Vetro said in a statement. “He has a lot of different qualities to his voice. It’s sort of like a wine. And Timothée has a really good ear. He can grab onto an idea really fast and he knows how to execute it as an actor.”
Likewise, the actor revealed, “Once I was in it, there was no coming back. I was fully in the Church of Bob.” We’re completely ready to witness Timothée’s transformation into one of our favorite artists.
RSVP is required, but that does not guarantee access to the screening; sending in an RSVP will put you on the list to the event, and from there, fans will be selected for the first-come-first-serve screening. (Keep in mind the theater seats 150 people, so you’ll want to arrive ahead of schedule.)
At this time, 4:35pm on Friday, December 13th, tickets have been filled, but you can join the waitlist.
