Blind Barber nestled in the East Village seems like your ordinary barbershop, but once the sun goes down they’re swapping out the buzzers for cocktail shakers!
Enter through a door at the back of your everyday barber shop offering haircuts, shaves, blow drys, and styles, and you’ll find a super swanky speakeasy hidden in plain sight.
By night, the lights dim, the candles come out, and expertly crafted cocktails and dance tunes fill the retro hidden bar.
House cocktails include the Hot Heather, made with tequila, fresh white grapefruit, lime, and ginger, the Batman, made with gin, St. Germain, lillet blanc, prosecco, lemon, and Peychaud’s, and the Strawberry Fields, made with Tito’s, strawberry-infused aperol, lemon, and triple sec.
Beyond the house cocktails a selection of seasonal cocktails can also be found on the menu, all of which sport cheeky names.
These include the Positively Funk Street, which combines Appleton Estate Jamaican Rum, pineapple, lime, tepache, and mint, the There’s Always Money In The Banana Stand, made with vodka, coffee liqueur, Banane du Bresil, cold brew, and mole bitters, and the Cherry Bomb, made with mezcaL, Amaro Montenegro, lemon, honey, IPA, and mole bitters.
And, like any good bar, they also offer beer, wine, and some of the best bar bites we’ve ever seen–ramen cups, hot pockets, and assorted veggies.
The best part–you don’t have to wait until heading to the back to grab yourself a drink! The barbershop offers hangover treatments which include complimentary cocktails with each service.
