Eating a BEC is a vital part of a New Yorker’s daily routine, but dare we say it’s worth it to switch it up sometimes? (Only slightly, we swear!)
That’s to say this week you can get a free J(jamón Ibérico)EC this week!
This Thursday, September 28th, Black Seed Bagels and Campo Grande, purveyors of premium Spanish Ibêrico pork, are teaming up to give away mouthwatering egg and cheese bagel sandwiches topped with jamón Ibérico (a type of cured leg of pork produced in Spain and Portugal).
Fancy, huh?!
Jamón Ibérico comes from free range black Iberian pigs that feed on acorns for the last 4 months of their life. What results is a marbled meat with a sweet and nutty flavor that melts in your mouth.
Exclusive to four different areas of Spain, this cured meat is one of the most sought-after meats in the world.
Though keep in mind in this case you’ll be ending your day with the go-to sandwich rather than starting your day with it, as Black Seed’s food cart will be parked outside Ray’s Bar (177 Chrystie Street) handing out the sandwiches between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m.
We all love a good breakfast for dinner situation, and a JEC sounds like the perfect late-night munchies bite if we do say so ourselves.
As for the details, the sandwiches are limited to one per guest and will be available on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last. So, like, this is definitely a walk don’t run situation.
And though this isn’t technically a BEC, considering inflation is raising the price of the iconic bodega sandwich, we’ll definitely welcome a free JEC with open arms.
And who knows, JECs may possibly be the new BECs!
