This month, the New York City Center is hosting a Flamenco Festival on their main stage. This performance will host some of Spain’s most renowned dancers and musicians from the Ballet Nacional de España, dance company Compañía Eva Yerbabuena and the Ballet Flamenco Jesús Carmona. Come witness these authentic yet modern interpretations of Spain’s most traditional dance. Performances will be held March 2nd-4th, and March 9th-11th.
Ballet Nacional de España
The National Spanish Ballet Company is making its first appearance at the New York City Center in over 20 years. This large and hybrid group of dancers puts on an elaborate and beautiful performance, combining elements from traditional Flamenco and classical ballet. They will be on stage this weekend, March 2nd-4th.
Compañía Eva Yerbabuena
Eva Yerbabuena is a Flamenco superstar. Come see her perform on March 9th and 10th, accompanied by five other dancers from her company. Her intimate displays of emotion and technical precision of the dance will leave the audience in awe of this art form.
Ballet Flamenco Jesús Carmona
The performance by the Ballet Flamenco Jesús Carmona will close out the festival with their performance on March 11th. Also taking elements from classical ballet, this spectacular performance uses interpretation of famous scores from Spain’s most known and beloved composers of the past.
