NYC can now claim bragging rights to the very best restaurant on the entire continent.
Atomix, the acclaimed two-Michelin-starred Korean fine dining restaurant in NoMad, was just crowned No. 1 on the inaugural North America’s 50 Best Restaurants list.
Led by husband-and-wife duo Chef Junghyun “JP” Park and Ellia Park, Atomix is rooted in what they call “New Korean Cuisine” — delivering food as a gift (“Ato” in ancient Korean) and blending Korean traditions with modern techniques.

Opened in 2018 as a follow-up to their first NYC restaurant, Atoboy, Atomix quickly redefined Korean fine dining worldwide.
Its intimate Chef’s Counter features a U-shaped seating arrangement with just two nightly services (5:30 pm and 8:45 pm), giving diners an up-close look at the kitchen while experiencing a tasting menu that doubles as culinary storytelling.

Recent menus have included dishes like:
- Sea urchin with gim bugak and mustard kimchi
- Dry-aged beef tartare with Ossetra caviar
- Tilefish with maesaengi and sea squirt
- Lobster mandu with gochujang
- Squab fried rice
- Rice ice cream with soy bean mousse and honeycomb
And if you’re lucky enough to score a seat, don’t miss their avant-garde wine program or the bar-only tasting menu upstairs, curated by Atomix’s R&D chef and beverage team.

This isn’t Atomix’s first accolade either.
Alongside its two Michelin stars, the restaurant also holds a three-star New York Times review, a James Beard Award for Outstanding Hospitality, and a spot on Eater’s All-Time 38 Restaurants list.
It also ranks No. 12 on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, making it the highest-ranked restaurant in all of North America.
With its newest honor, Atomix isn’t just NYC’s most coveted reservation — it’s now officially the best restaurant in North America.
