Four different NYC restaurants just landed on the World’s 25 Best Burgers 2025 list, more than any other city in the world.
From indulgent Wagyu creations to cult-favorite kimchi burgers, here are the hometown heroes putting NYC on the global burger map:
Sip & Guzzle — Best Burger in North America (No. 13 Worldwide)
Tucked in the West Village, this cocktail bar only makes a dozen burgers a day.
Each patty is grounded daily from 100% A5 Wagyu trimmings, smoked in Binchotan perfume, bound with cured Jidori egg yolk, and seared in cast iron with beef tallow and butter.
Finished with a Parmesan “Kraft single,” tare sauce, shishito banana pepper relish, a Binchotan special sauce, and a house fermented pickle — it’s equal parts familiar and elevated.
Not to mention it’s all served on a world-class sesame bun created in collaboration with one of our favorites in the city, Bread’s Bakery.
Judges named it the best burger in North America and praised its “meticulous technique.”

Nowon — No. 15 Worldwide
Chef Jae Lee’s East Village hotspot is known for its buzzy, high-energy vibe — and its burger matches the mood.
The double dry-aged burger is stacked with American cheese, kimchi, and gochujang mayo, creating a fiery Korean-American twist that’s become a true cult favorite.

Red Hook Tavern — No. 21 Worldwide
Over in Brooklyn, Red Hook Tavern takes the opposite approach: pure, simple perfection.
Winning by the motto “less is more” according to the ranking, this tavern’s thick dry-aged patty is topped only with American cheese and raw onion on a sesame bun.
Nothing fancy, just timeless flavor that proves restraint can be just as powerful.

This beloved West Village steakhouse already has a reputation for indulgence, and its double Wagyu cheeseburger is no exception.
