To mark the milestone, the 50th annual Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks is going down in history with a massive location expansion. This year, the spectacular show will launch from the lower East River near the Seaport, the lower Hudson River (in collaboration with Jersey City), and directly off the iconic Brooklyn Bridge.
Expect to see a jaw-dropping 85,000 shells in 30 vibrant colors lighting up the sky, all perfectly timed to a live musical score and a cutting-edge laser show on the bridge.

Official free Macy’s viewing zones
You can catch the action for free from designated viewing areas set up across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Jersey City.
- Manhattan FDR Drive: Non-ticketed public viewing areas will be available along the FDR Drive. Keep an eye out for official entry points managed by the NYPD.
- Brooklyn Bridge Park & The Seaport: These prime spots offer an incredible view of the Brooklyn Bridge laser show. However, they are accessible only via free tickets issued by the City of New York.
- Jersey City Hudson River waterfront: For front-row views of the Hudson River barges, head to public access points like York & Hudson, Grand & Hudson, Columbus & Hudson, or the Colgate Clock. Jersey City is also hosting a daylong festival and concert series ahead of the fireworks! An ADA-accessible viewing zone is available at 70 Hudson Street.
Quick tip: Security is incredibly tight this year. Large bags, backpacks, coolers, lawn chairs, blankets, and umbrellas are strictly prohibited in all public viewing zones.
Epic observation decks in the sky
If you want to see the fireworks from over 1,100 feet in the air, the city’s top observation deck is hosting an exclusive party.
- SUMMIT One Vanderbilt: Watch the fireworks illuminate both the East River and Hudson River at the exact same time. Their celebration runs from 7:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and grants you access to all three levels, patriotic decorations in the viral Affinity room, and a themed food menu. Tickets are $250 for adults and $160 for youth.
- Top of the Rock: Rockefeller Center’s sky-high deck is throwing an epic bash from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.. Since it’s an open-air vantage point 70 floors up, it’s the perfect spot to take in the fireworks launching from both rivers. Tickets include a live DJ, two drinks, a hot dog, ice cream, a warm chocolate chip cookie, and kid-friendly activities like face painting. Adult tickets are $250, and kids 12 and under are $95.
- Edge: Celebrate 1,100 feet above the city at the highest outdoor sky deck in NYC. Their July 4th party, presented by Mastercard, promises sweeping skyline views, immersive installations, live DJs, and an elevated nightlife atmosphere.

- July 4th Yacht Party Cruise: Take the party directly to the water! Set sail from Pier 36 in downtown Manhattan on the Majestic Princess Yacht.
